The battery automatically enters Deep Sleep mode when it remains inactive (neither charging nor discharging) for a certain period. The time it takes to enter Deep Sleep state varies depending on the battery charge level:

When the battery is in Deep Sleep mode, the status LED flashes red when you press the button.
